A Peek on the Next Stylemo Design
Hey guys, due to popular requests, I want you guys and faithful Stylemoers out there to take a look on the next version of this site. It would still be using the same cool icy colors, but it will be much richer in content. I will be needing writers and contributors and if you like to share reviews, or your knowledge about the PSP and the iPod, well go on ahead and send them to fatfingur [at] gmail.com.
Here you go. Here’s a sample screenshot. Feast your eyes on it.

Thanks guys and in the next few weeks the site will be updated to a newer better design.
Brewing Wordpress Theme: Coolmo under development
It’s been almost a month since my last post. It’s not that I’ve ran out of ideas to write but it was because I was busy taking care of my first baby boy and of course busy on work. I go to the office from Mondays to Fridays and at night I work on my freelance projects while I’m looking after the baby. That’s called extreme multitasking.
So what’s my plan right now?
I’m thinking of finishing this Wordpress theme, this one that I’m using right now (Yes this cool blue theme) and I’d release it to the public later. I’m gonna remove the large photo beside the latest post and change the header. You’d also notice that pages and some links are still missing so I’m gonna fix that part too. Hopefully. I can finish it before August ends, release this theme and give the public a neat and cool theme to download.
And yeah, the theme is called Coolmo. Please watch out for it.
Nonstop Action on Transformers The Movie
I saw Transformers the Movie last night with my wife and it’s not bad after all. I mean it’s really good – the special effects that is. Michael Bay doesn’t suck after all. Last year, I posted an entry about the movie saying that it would really suck but I was wrong in the end. Maybe Michael Bay has learned already from his past mistakes on movies.
Transformers the movie kicks ass and it’s not as boring as SpiderMan 3 or Fantastic 4:Rise of the Silver Surfer. What I mean is I can’t help but worship special effects team on the wicked job they made. Those robots may seem to be very complicated but that is what’s cool about it. Before I didn’t really like the idea on Bumblebee being a Camaro but I guess it really worked out. The story was cool. Megatron wasn’t transforming into a gun but well, I guess the concept was still the same. It’s good versus evil. Maybe if they’d took the same image of those robots from the old cartoons it won’t be appropriate to the present times and that’s where Michael Bay hit the target. Cool. I’m not saying that I’m starting to love Michael Bay’s works. But I guess what I learned is I should reserve my judgment until I see the whole stuff. Well, there’s more than meets the eye.
Funny thing is, I drove my pregnant wife home and I told her to hold on to her seat because our car’s gonna transform into a robot. She told me I’m crazy. Heh.
Coolmo
Finally after weeks of lazy conceptualizing and surfing I’ve been able to come up with this brand new theme for my site. It’s called Coolmo. Funny name but it’s what I want to call it. I used the “cool” palette on Adobe Illustrator. You can find it on the color swatch dialogue box.
For the giant header, I used Adobe Illustrator again in composing that cool wallpaper you can download for free, but only if you want it. The sections on this new theme aren’t complete yet and I’m planning on completing this theme by next week. I’ll be adding sections like projects, themes, games, the obligatory about page and downloads.
Here are the future sections for this site:
Themes. I’ll be releasing WordPress themes later this year. Themes with cool colors and themes you haven’t seen yet. I’ll push my programming skills for that.
Downloads. Yeah I’d like to share and I’m gonna be putting some cool stuff here for web designers, gamers and you. I’m gonna share my Fireworks styles, some homemade wallpapers and some game saves for PSP games.
Portfolio. These will be the page where you will see all my chosen works. I’ll display all my projects here and talk about them when ‘ve got the time.
Games. This section will be the listing of all my games and how I’d rate them. I love to play but I need to sleep too. Gaming is fun and if only I can earn money thru it. I’d stick to web designing instead.
Well, those are the sections I will be adding so be sure to return if you have time and learn something. By the way here are the Wordpress plugins I’ve used for this theme. I’ve researched on the web and so far these are the best ones I’ve managed to install with this theme.
- Feeder – it displays feeds on your page in html format. But I’m having problems working it with Tumblr feeds though.
- FlickrRSS – cool plugin that displays thumbnails of your latest Flickr Photos.
- Get Recent Comments – displays the latest comments from your visitors. What I love about this is that it’s so highly configurable
- Gravatar (and userpics) – This plugin allows you to generate a gravatar URL complete with rating, size, default, and border options.
- Reinvigorate – this is a very cool tracking plugin. Better than Google Analytics.
- WP Audioscrobbler – This displays the tracks I’ve been listening to for the past few minutes. Cool eh?
I’ve still have a few plugins left that I have to configure but I’ll complete this list once I complete the site. So far, what do you think on the new look? I’m open for suggestions so please leave your commentsafter this post. Thanks.
Transformers Movie: Totally Transformed Down
I know you guys have already heard about the upcoming Transformers movie next year. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, you can watch it on the official Transformers movie website or at YouTube. The Transformers movie trailer shows a rover that was launched to Mars in 2003 that sent transmissions back to earth showing lifeforms or more like robot-life forms in Mars. At first, I was excited but then I realized that my favorite robots as a child, the Transformers, were not from Mars. Once you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve probably never want to see it again as it sucks. Well, if you don’t believe me, read the comments about the Transformers trailer at YouTube.
So who is responsible for the movie? It’s no other than director Michael Bay. The man responsible for blowing up good movie titles like Pearl Harbor. I don’t really know anything about Michael Bay but what I know is that he is one of the most hated directors. Well, probably because some song in Team America has this funny lyrics about Michael Bay’s Pearl Harbor movie. Here it goes. You can sing it if you know the Tune.
I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark,
When he made Pearl Harbor.
I miss you more then that movie missed the point,
And that’s an awful lot girl.
And now, now you’ve gone away,
And all I’m trying to say,
Is Pearl Harbor sucked and I miss you
I was just hoping that Michael Bay wouldn’t again blow up the Transformers movie but I guess my hopes just deteriorated instantly. I just came across SERVE with CHIPS, a blog, showing photos of some of the characters in the Transformers movie. I was very disappointed when I saw what they did to Megatron. Why can’t they just design the Transformers just the way they should look in the original animation? Even Bumblebee is not a Beetle anymore but instead a Camaro. Even Optimus Prime doesn’t look like the original one. They have just over-designed the robots.
What is excessive is dangerous and that saying too, goes for the movie. They should have kept the robots’ original appearance. Why am I against this? It’s not that I can’t accept change but the truth is I love the Transformers and changing their looks in major ways makes me just wanna despise the upcoming movie. But I’m not totally gonna hate it right away. It’s still in the works and maybe, just maybe they will realize that the Transformers should look how they really look.
But then again, I just wish Spielberg should have just directed the movie.
Update: I made this post a year before the movie was released so before you leave a comment saying how stupid I am for this review (well this isn’t actually a review), I’d like you guys to know that I’ve seen the movie and my god, here’s my reaction to the movie.
