How to Capture Screenshots On Your PSP

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I know a lot of you PSP fanboys out there are still wondering how I manage to get those cool screenshots from my PSP. well you can stop wondering now because after this post, you too will be capturing screenshots from your PSP just by pressing the NOTE button. Sounds simple right?

Requirements:

  1. A Fat or Slim PSP installed with 3.71 M33 or higher custom firmware. This means it will also work with 3.80 M33 custom firmwares.
  2. A USB Cable to enable connection between your computer and your PSP.

Instructions:

  1. Download the screencapture pack I’ve prepared to anywhere on your computer.
  2. Unzip the file you’ve downloaded.
  3. Connect your PSP to your PC using a USB Cable. Check if you have already the seplugins folder on the root of your memory stick. If you don’t have it yet then proceed to step 4. If you do already have it then proceed to step 5.
  4. Do this only if you don’t have the seplugins folder yet. Copy the seplugins folder from your computer to the root of your memory stick.
  5. If you did step 4 then skip this step. You only have to follow this step if you already have an existing seplugins folder. Copy screenshotbmp.prx from the seplugins on your computer to the seplugins folder on the root of your memory stick. Now go to the seplugins on your memory stick. If you have vsh.txt already present, you have to open the file and edit it. Open it in Notepad or any text editor and add these code in a new line: ms0:/seplugins/screenshotbmp.prx
Check if you also have pops.txt and game.txt present on your seplugins folder in your memory stick. If you have it then do the same routine, edit it and paste that line of code in a new line. Otherwise you can just grab the game.txt and pops.txt from the file you’ve downloaded.
  6. Disconnect your PSP from your computer. Now open the recovery menu. How? Turn off your PSP then turn it on again while pressing the R button. On your recovery menu, go to Plugins and enable all the screenshotbmp.prx plugins. Exit the recovery menu.
  7. Try it on your XMB. Press the note button. You will know the screenshot plugin is working when an inverse color of your screen will sweep from the bottom to the top. The screenshot will be saved on your PICTURES folder on your memory stick and you can also view it by going to Photo > memory stick on your PSP.

If you have any questions or reactions about this guide, you can use the comment form below. The screenshot plugin was programmed by TyRaNID and ported by Weltall to the M33 custom firmwares.

Busy With Work and Games

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

One month has passed and still I haven’t posted anything new here. Thanks to the dynamic plugins that’s keepin my site dynamic everyday. Like the recent comments, the Last.FM and the del.icio.us plugins, these are the ones that makes sure that my sites being updated whenever a Googlebot crawls my site.

I’m supposedĀ  to be releasing the Coolmo this month but I guess you guys have to wait again. Sorry for that. I’ve been very busy with a lot of projects - freelance, work and personal. And also I’m spending time with my baby. Managing time is really hard for me nowadays. I don’t even play a lot of games on PSP anymore. The last game I played was Brave Story. Brave Story is an RPG. RPG stands for Role Playing Game for the sake of the newbies out there. What you have to do is travel into the land of Vision to rescue your beloved leading lady. I’m still on the beginning part of the game. It’s a turn-based RPG and I really think the graphics are good, well at least for a PSP. The fights are repetitive but that’s what RPG is all about - leveling up and fighting the same monsters all over again. But then again this is just my opinion so don’t take my word for it. Tokobot is also on my list of “to-beat” games. I’m already in the middle of the game the last time I played it. Tokobot is one cool game, in my own opinion at least. So again, don’t take my word for it. I guess you have to play the game and see for yourself.

On the other hand, this theme will experience evolution in the next few days and then when I’m good with it, I’m gonna release it to the public. One of the things to do on my list are of making the sidebar widget ready so anyone can customize it. I’ll also try that on the header but I sure wish it will be easy. I’m no programmer but I sure know the Wordpress codex. Time to get the thinking cap on and stop slacking around.

Coolmo

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Finally after weeks of lazy conceptualizing and surfing I’ve been able to come up with this brand new theme for my site. It’s called Coolmo. Funny name but it’s what I want to call it. I used the “cool” palette on Adobe Illustrator. You can find it on the color swatch dialogue box.

For the giant header, I used Adobe Illustrator again in composing that cool wallpaper you can download for free, but only if you want it. The sections on this new theme aren’t complete yet and I’m planning on completing this theme by next week. I’ll be adding sections like projects, themes, games, the obligatory about page and downloads.

Here are the future sections for this site:

Themes. I’ll be releasing WordPress themes later this year. Themes with cool colors and themes you haven’t seen yet. I’ll push my programming skills for that.

Downloads. Yeah I’d like to share and I’m gonna be putting some cool stuff here for web designers, gamers and you. I’m gonna share my Fireworks styles, some homemade wallpapers and some game saves for PSP games.

Portfolio. These will be the page where you will see all my chosen works. I’ll display all my projects here and talk about them when ‘ve got the time.

Games. This section will be the listing of all my games and how I’d rate them. I love to play but I need to sleep too. Gaming is fun and if only I can earn money thru it. I’d stick to web designing instead.

Well, those are the sections I will be adding so be sure to return if you have time and learn something. By the way here are the Wordpress plugins I’ve used for this theme. I’ve researched on the web and so far these are the best ones I’ve managed to install with this theme.

  1. Feeder - it displays feeds on your page in html format. But I’m having problems working it with Tumblr feeds though.
  2. FlickrRSS - cool plugin that displays thumbnails of your latest Flickr Photos.
  3. Get Recent Comments - displays the latest comments from your visitors. What I love about this is that it’s so highly configurable
  4. Gravatar (and userpics) - This plugin allows you to generate a gravatar URL complete with rating, size, default, and border options.
  5. Reinvigorate - this is a very cool tracking plugin. Better than Google Analytics.
  6. WP Audioscrobbler - This displays the tracks I’ve been listening to for the past few minutes. Cool eh?

I’ve still have a few plugins left that I have to configure but I’ll complete this list once I complete the site. So far, what do you think on the new look? I’m open for suggestions so please leave your commentsafter this post. Thanks.
