Sony PSP’s new Firmware 3.40 sneaking on your network update

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Just a few weeks after the recent release of PSP firmware 3.30, it seems that Sony PSP firmware 3.40 is now available on the South Korea website. So what’s new with this firmware? I don’t know because maybe I don’t want to try it out and it’s Korean. I can’t read Korean you know. And I suggest you guys not to download it. Stay away from it. Ok?

I know that Dark Alex and the PSP team of hackers are ready for this one. It took a day to decrypt the previous firmware 3.30 just after it’s release. I wonder how long the team will take to decryt this one. I heard also that Dark Alex bricked his PSP trying to create a custom firmware based on 3.30 but like we all expected, he has cracked it and released yet another custom firmware, 3.30 OE just a few days ago. PSP Firmware 3.30: It never ends

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Sony has just released yet another firmware for the PSP. You can now download the 3.30 thru network update if you want. The last firmware update was 3.11. Sony skipped 3.20 and this means 3.30 is a huge update. Just days or maybe hours before the firmware came out, Team C+D has already decrypted it and now Dark Alex is working on a 3.30 based custom firmware. (more…)

After some delicate tinkering with my PSP, I finally got the USB Mod for PSP working! I now can finally play my backed-up ISOS from my PC via a USB cable. So how did I do it? Well, I’m gonna share this stuff with you guys so you could do it on your PSP too. (more…)

USBHostsFS Problem with PSP TA-082 Mother Board

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

After downgrading my PSP a few months ago with the Noobz 2.80 downgrader, I thought I was gonna be able to do everything with my PSP. It turned out that the Noobs downgrader I used just modified my PSP’s ID Storage. Now I’m having problems with the USBhostsfs. What is USBHostsfs anyway? Well it’s a program that communicates with your PSP and this enables you to play backed-up ISOs and/or videos from your PC to your PSP via a USB cable. (more…)

How to Watch Movies and Listen to Music on Your PSP from Your Computer Wirelessly

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

The PSP recently only supports MP4 files for video. I have a lot of AVI files that I wanna watch on my
PSP but first I have to convert it to MP4. There are a lot of good converters out there and I recommend XVID4PSP. This nifty application can convert almost any video format. I also recommend VLC player which can play almost any video and audio format on your PC. (more…)

How To Install and Play Your PSP Game Demos

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

PSP game demos are now available for free download on the internet. When I first bought my PSP, there were no game demos. People at the gaming stores wouldn’t let you try out the game before buying it. Now, that’s risky. New PSP owners are really lucky right now because they really experience the game first before they decide to buy it. Before, PSP owners like me only rely on online game reviews but it’s really different if you experience the game and decide on it. (more…)

I Own the City

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I’ve finally beaten the game, NFS Carbon: Own the City. This game is really cool and has a real slick storyline. I’ve written a short summary about this game to help you out.

The story starts 6 months ago when you and your brother Mick crashes into a car accident. You’re brother Mick dies and you get into a coma. After 6 months, your conciousness returns but you get an amnesia. You are fetched by Sara, your late brother Mick’s girlfriend. Outside the hospital, Carter, your Ace and Wingman is waiting for you. Sara gives you the keys and tests you if you can still drive. (more…)

I Beat Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Friday, February 9th, 2007

Finally, I’ve beaten the most notorious driver in Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Clarence Callahan, the most wanted driver on top of the list, was not an easy driver to beat. When I got enough respect points to race him, I bought a M3 GTR and upgraded it to the max. The M3 GTR is really easy to handle and it’s also fast but not as fast as Callahan’s car which is also a GTR but has race car specs. (more…)

On PSP Firmwares and Need For Speed

Monday, February 5th, 2007

I’ve been busy these past few days. Work and the PlayStation Portable is eating a lot of my time. By the way, I’ve upgraded my PSP’s firmware into 3.03 OE-C by Dark Alex just last week. I’ve also installed some Custom Firmware Extender plugin. The Custom Firmware Extender enables you to take screenshots and do some ftp on your PSP. It adds also functions to some keys using the note key as the control key. (more…)

Sleepless with Playstation Portable

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

After downgrading my PSP to 1.5, I finally decided to upgrade it into Dark Alex’s 3.02 OE-B firmware. If you asked how I did it, i just followed the upgrade instructions from Attack of the Gamer.

So what’s new with the 3.02 OE-B firmware? This firmware can run ISO games and 1.5 homebrew applications. The PSP camera is also supported by this firmware as well as the 4 Gigabyte memory stick. What this firmware lacks is the Korean language support and the Location Free Player support. Well it’s ok for me since I don’t have a Location Free Player.

You can download homebrew apps at psp-homebrew.eu or you can go to QJ. ISOs aren’t available on these sites since they don’t support Piracy. You can find free PSP ISOs on torrent sites though.

I’m currently enjoying playing NFS Carbon and NFS Most Wanted on my PSP right now. Those two files weigh about 500 MB and that occupies already half of my memory stick. I’m looking for a 4 GB memory stick right now but I think it’s still not available here in the Philippines. By the way, I’m looking for a PSP gamer like me so I have someone to play with. I hope someone out there is interested in making me their PSP playmate.
