How to Install 5.00 M33-4 Custom Firmware on your PSP
Dark Alex has released last week the new update for the 5.00 M33 firmware. Below are the changes for the latest update:
- Speed selected for umd/iso was not properly locked in some new games that used scePower_EBD177D6 instead of scePowerSetClockFrequency to change speed.
- UMD/ISO speed settings now apply to PSN games too.
- Fixed libupdown.prx connecting to dark-alex.org instead of sony when npsignin_plugin checks for a new version and m33 update is enabled.
- Iso file descriptor was not closed in driver deletion
- Added a shutdown command to vshmenu.
Requirements:
- Fat or Slim PSP installed with 5.00 M33-3 or lower. If you don’t have a 5.00 M33 yet, here’s a 5.00 M33 installation guide.
- USB Cable
- Computer
Instructions
- Download the update via rapidshare or megaupload.
- Unzip the file anywhere on your computer. Connect your PSP to your computer then copy the contents of the UPDATE folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME/
- Go to XMB menu and then go to GAME>Memory Stick then run the Update
- Wait for 5 seconds. Voila! You now have a 5.00 M33-4 PSP.
Subsequent to an excellent web design, enthralling domain names along with vps hosting will clean up your act.
Got it? Enjoy.

thank you…

Help!
I have custom firmware 3.90 m33-3 installed on my fat psp 1004.
I want to install 5.00 m33-4.
Do i need a pandora battery for upgrading the firmware?
Should i directly update the firmware by placing files in memory card?
Can i run .avi files after upgrading?
i can run games from memory card now.
Willl i be able to run games after the upgrade?
please reply…
THANKS
ONE MORE QUESTION.
Is there any way that me and my friend can play multiplayer on our individual psp’s without internet. nor do we hav any kind of wlan enabled computers.Like if we can connect our psp’s to each other thru psp’s wlan and then play……
dude when i upgrade my version 4.01 m33-2 to 5.00 m33 or higher, it installs normaly but when i restart in the end it doesn’t start at all.. it’s some kind of brick i dont know. i can fix it with the pandora battery but i would like to have that upgrade done. can anyone tell me what to do?
Do you have a custom XMB theme installed? Try deactivating it first. If you have a Pandora Battery, you can just use Dark Alex’s Despertar del Cementerio v8 so you could install 5.00 M33 directly.
Sunny, if you have 3.60 m33-3, you don’t need pandora or somthing like that.
You can’t upgrade directly from 3.90m33. you need to upgrade to 4.01 m33, then 5.00 m33, then install this one (5.00 m33 update)
hope helps ;D

pandora. i had mine done in a shop before at park square. didn’t have an extra batt.. or just didn’t want to mess up with my only batt. it’s easier this way. i’m sure there would be a lot of people here who has a pandora.. and might do the job for you free. good luck..

Dear Stylemo,
I had a PSP slim with 3.90 M33-3. I directly upgraded it to 5.00 M33 and then to 5.00 M33-4.
Though it is working properly, I did not get the New full QWERTY keyboard. Can u please help me??
Waiting in anticipation,
Aamir.
That’s kinda weird. Maybe you are looking for the QWERTY keyboard in the wrong place. Try typing an address on the internet browser, then press [select] to toggle the keyboard options. You should be able to see the QWERTY. Let me know if you got that.
