How to Change Your PSP XMB Theme
Now I’m gonna teach you how to change the look of your PSP’s XMB theme in a few very easy steps even your grandma can do it. But first here are the requirements:
- A PSP with a firmware of 3.71 (Official) or 3.71 M33.
- You need themes. You can download them here.
- USB Cable
If you’ve met the requirements then it’s time for you to follow my simple instructions.
- Extract the Zip file you’ve just downloaded anywhere on your computer.
- Connect your PSP to your computer and then copy the THEME folder to ms0:/PSP/
- Got to your XMB menu. Go to Settings > Theme Settings > Theme. You can now choose any theme you want. Press Apply and Accept.
- Done. Congratulations on your new theme.
Here are some theme screenshots from my PSP.

Hi Marshall. What I meant was you place the entire THEME folder into the PSP directory on your memory stick. Of course you should have 3.71 M33 or official 3.71 firmware installed.
Thanks!

ms0 stands for memory stick drive. so ms0:/PSP is the folder on your memory stick that has PSP as name. That’s where you put the THEME folder.

@RastamiC: 700 bucks for a USB cable? Wow, USB Cables only cost 30bucks.
@nigeriaboy: You can do what ever you want with your PSP. In short, Sony doesn’t really care what you do with your PSP.

Hi Stylemo, first off thanx for the tutorial. I am completely new to the PSP world and CFW, however i am slowly learning with help from tutorials such as this. I have recently bought a PSP slim with CWF 3.71 m33-4 on it and its going great however i would like to learn how to play my old PSX games on it. I have downloaded poploader and the muti-poploader from the Dark Alex web site but i am finding it hard to follow the instructions in the read me txts files. If you have time could you please write a tutorial for how to do it or if you know of a good tutorial already on the net could you send me a link. I would appreciate it, because it would be great to play my old FF and Metal Gear Solid games on it.
