To Crush or not to Crush
This past weekend, I loaded my Playstation Portable with Crush, a new mind boggling puzzle game from SEGA. The game lets you switch the game environment from 2D to 3D or vice-versa. It’s actually the key to solving the hard puzzles and reaching places. The game also features camera view switching and when used with the dimension toggling makes it easier to solve the puzzles. The goal here is to collect as many blue and red spheres to open the doorway to the next area. You can also collect jigsaw puzzles and trophies to unlock game extras like character sketches and trophy levels which are timed and really hard to beat.
The story of the game is about Danny who has been hospitalized due to insomnia. He has a hard trouble of going to sleep and the only way to solve this is through the Mad Psychologist, Dr. Reubens. Dr Reubens’ pride and joy, C.R.U.S.H. represents the very latest in psychotherapy. The name stands for Cognitive Regression Utilizing pSychiatric Heuristics and, according to Dr Reubens, the processing power is matched only by its beauty. What makes C.R.U.S.H. unique is the ability to re-frame a patient’s problems. While under hypnosis, C.R.U.S.H. will allow Danny to move between 3D and 2D as he navigates his neuroses and comes to terms with the secrets of his past.
Overall, the game is great. The controls are easy and the game is quite addicting. I suggest this game to everybody who loves puzzles. CRUSH is available only the PSP platform. Well I think it works best on the Portable.
Here are some screenshots I took from the game.

Here’s the game opening title

When danny falls into oblivin he wakes up and then you start on your last checkpoint

Collect those trophies to unlock real hard trophy levels.

A top view screenshot of the whole stage

Be careful when uncrushing or you might get that weird feeling

Another top view shot. You must collect those blue orbs to unlock the doorway to next stage.

Always step up on checkpoints to save your progress in case you fall down or wake up

That looks like an awesome game. Too bad I don’t have a PSP. I’m saving my money for a DS so I can get the new Pokemon game.

Why not save for a PSP instead? It’s got better games than a DS but I must admit Pokemon is one cool game that the PSP platform lacks.
