The best and fastest way to convert your movies for the PSP
If you didn’t already know, MP4 is the playable video format for the iPod and PSP. For months I’ve been using Winnydows XviD4PSP video converter to convert AVI and MPEG files into MP4. The good thing about XviD4PSP is that it can convert any video file and best of all, it’s free. The one thing I don’t like about XviD4PSP is its very slow process of conversion. For example if you convert a 45 minute length AVI movie into MP4, the who whole process would take almost 2 hours to complete. Now that’s really a long process but positive thing about it is that the quality of the output video is the same with the original.
I got tired of waiting for long processes on video converting with the XviD4PSP so I decided to leave it and look for another video converter for the PSP on the web.
I tried PSPVideo9 which is totally free but you can give donations to the author if you want. It’s a good video converter. Then I discovered about WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter. This is one cool application. It converts videos fast and the quality is the same as the original! I converted a one hour movie for the PSP and it only took almost 30 minutes. Now that is very fast compared to XviD4PSP’s process which will almost take a whole night in converting one hour of video. The only thing about WinAvi I know you users won’t like is it isn’t free. It costs $30 but I think it’s worth buying. I wish they could lower the price though.
If you want the free stuff, choose PSPVideo 9 but if you’ve got money you better go for WinAvi 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod. I went for the latter.
