I finally got the USB Mod 4 PSP working!

After some delicate tinkering with my PSP, I finally got the USB Mod for PSP working! I now can finally play my backed-up ISOS from my PC via a USB cable. So how did I do it? Well, I’m gonna share this stuff with you guys so you could do it on your PSP too.

First, let me introduce to you a brief history of my PSP:

PSP TA-082 > 2.60 > 2.71 > 2.80 > 1.5 > 3.03 OE-B > 3.03 OE-C

My PSP was originally a 2.80 downgraded with Noobz safe downgrader. I was wrong about what I said in my earlier post that the Noobz downgrader changes the ID Storage. (Sorry bout that Noobz) It actually fixes it.

Second, download the USB Mod v4b for 3.03 OE-C PSP. I actually hosted the file so you can access it easily. You can download the USB Mod for other Custom Firmware versions at Tweak XMB. You must follow the instructions carefully which is included in the zipped file. There is an instruction there about writing to your flash so be careful so you don’t end up with a bricked PSP.

For the USB hosts for the PC, I suggest you put it in the root of your drive on your computer and the ISOs on the same folder with the USB host. The folder should look like this:

C:USBHosts/usbhostsfs.exe
C:USBHosts/ISOS/

Once you’ve finished doing the installation and you’ve booted your PSP successfully, hold and press square. If you’ve connected to the PC already and a balloon on the lower right of the screen pops out and detects a PSP Type B, you must install the driver with this installer.

After the quick installation, go to the saved games and stay there for a few seconds. Now go back to the games folder and then you’ll be surprised to see your ISO games there.

If you didn’t see your ISOs, you must have not followed the instructions. One important thing also, you must have a UMD on your drive so the games would run.

Well good luck and please be careful when tinkering with your PSP especially when you’re touching the flash0 folder.
