Sony to release PSOne games on PSP (Fingers crossed)

So I beat the Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light game on PSP just a few weeks ago. I traded it with Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects with my brother. It’s not a trade actually, it’s just an exchange of game for a span of time. I can’t afford to buy a new game just yet because PSP discs cost too much. Damn!

When will SONY release PSXP? Well, if there is ever such a thing.

What is PSXP anyway?

From what I read on the net, they are emulated games from the first Sony PlayStation or the PSOne. If this becomes reality, PSP gamers will be able to play PSOne games on the PSP. Wow, that’s cool. I just do hope SONY will be releasing it sooner. According to rumors, Sony plans to have up to 7,000 PSOne titles released until the end of 2007. But how do we get these games? Sony will be launching a service where gamers can download these games at some price. And I hope it doesn’t cost too much! Several titles that will be included on the launch are Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII. Wow! I will be able to play my favorite RPGs on my PSP then. Well that’s one good news, right? But it will be bad news to homebrew gamers since this type of service will be needing a new firmware update. And I’ve really got no problem with it.

    1. You just have to acquire the 3.71 M33-4 and run it directly to your psp.

    or else…

    2. You can always revive your psp to 1.50 version then upgrade to latest custom firmware, 3.71 M33-4 and 3.80 M33-5 were among those that gave me satisfaction.

I agree with you when you said that the PSP has a lot of potential. It’s just that SONY doesn’t do anything to maximize it’s use. I was really amazed when I first bought my PSP. It’s got a lot of stuff in it. It’s got video, music, games, photos and a browser… it has everything a basic computer has. I think if SONY continues working on PSP, they might come up with something useful. Right now, SONY have released Milo. It has the same features like the PSP except that it wasn’t made for games but for mobile messaging. If SONY focused on the PSP they could have come up with that same feature too. If they haven’t developed SONY Milo and they have given the PSP more attention, right now there could have been more PSP added features and updates.

This is just a way for Sony to make up for the lack of development for the PSP and it’s subsequent short-comings in regards to competing with the Nintendo DS. The PSP has a lot of potential but I think Sony needs to focus more on originality instead of relying on their back catalogue alone.
