Loco Roco Halloween Demo limited edition only available for PSP Firmware 2.82

Friday, October 27th, 2006

I’ve just recently downloaded Loco Roco on PSP this morning and oh boy was I very disappointed. It doesn’t seem to work on my PSP. My Firmware is 2.80 and it requires 2.82. I really want to play the game but I don’t want to upgrade yet because when I upgrade it the firmware to 2.82, I won’t be able to use the File Assistant. For those who doesn’t know yet, File Assistant is an application that works only on 2.80 firmwares and lower versions. It’s a TIFF exploit program which enables you to manage your files, and view your hidden folders in your Memory Disk. If Sony can come up with something like the File Assistant then I’ll be willing to upgrade my Firmware. But I guess Sony isn’t doing anything for the PSP right now. They have come up with a new portable wireless messenger and multimedia called the Sony Mylo but they can’t seem to do some good updates on the PSP.

I just think that Sony must also focus more on the PSP since it has lots of great potentials and it’s just waiting to be unlocked. If they just funded on the PSP development then they won’t be needing to build another portable handheld like the Mylo. I think Mylo’s features is very possible to integrate on the PSP. For those who doesn’t have a PSP yet, PSP isn’t just a Portable Gaming System. There are lot’s of things you can do with your PSP. You can browse the internet through it. You can watch videos or even movies on it. It’s also a great music player and a photo viewer. If Sony just concentrated on developing the PSP they I think it will beat even iPOD or other portable gadgets.

Actually there are a lot of hackers making great applications for the PSP. You can even install Windows on PSP. You can even record your voice on the PSP. Again, what the PSP lacks is technical support and development. I just wish that Sony would continue working and making the PSP a great tool and portable device.

I heard some few rumors that Sony will be releasing a USB camera for the PSP. That’s great news. I just wish Sony would continue on making more things like this. They should also focus on applications for the PSP. Well that’s it. I just hope Sony would make these things come true.

Internet Explorer 7 has finally been released

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

The Microsoft IE team has just released Internet Explorer 7 which has been waited by a lot of people like me for a long time. IE 7 has been released in English and other languages would follow soon. I haven’t tried it out yet but it has some features like tabbed browsing which isn’t new since Firefox introduced it.

According to the IE Blog, IE 7 has more CSS improvements and a better RSS support. It has new features like shrink to fit printing and easily customizable search box.

Am I supposed to be happy or not? I have been designing the web using CSS for 2 years now and I admit that I have been using a lot of hacks on my code. What I’m worried about is those old websites that I have used hacks on. Will they still work on IE 7? For now, this is still a question to ask but I’ll find a solution for myself.

Grab the latest version of IE now.

Sony to release PSOne games on PSP (Fingers crossed)

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

So I beat the Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light game on PSP just a few weeks ago. I traded it with Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects with my brother. It’s not a trade actually, it’s just an exchange of game for a span of time. I can’t afford to buy a new game just yet because PSP discs cost too much. Damn!

When will SONY release PSXP? Well, if there is ever such a thing.

What is PSXP anyway?

From what I read on the net, they are emulated games from the first Sony PlayStation or the PSOne. If this becomes reality, PSP gamers will be able to play PSOne games on the PSP. Wow, that’s cool. I just do hope SONY will be releasing it sooner. According to rumors, Sony plans to have up to 7,000 PSOne titles released until the end of 2007. But how do we get these games? Sony will be launching a service where gamers can download these games at some price. And I hope it doesn’t cost too much! Several titles that will be included on the launch are Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII. Wow! I will be able to play my favorite RPGs on my PSP then. Well that’s one good news, right? But it will be bad news to homebrew gamers since this type of service will be needing a new firmware update. And I’ve really got no problem with it.

Google acquires Youtube

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Google just bought YouTube for 1.65 Billion dollars. That’s the biggest purchase Google has ever made for eight years. Well I think it’s really a good investment though. Google Videos doesn’t receive quite much traffic compared to YouTube which has far more visitors and users. Being the number one search engine, Google’s services are becoming vast and now conquering the web. I’d really like to be a part of Google someday.

Now can anybody tell me how I could be a part of Google?

Blade Dancer Ending Sucks

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

After one month of fighting with monsters in Foo, I finally came face to face with the Dread Knight who turned out to be the fallen Blade Dancer Gerard. My characters: Lance, Felis, Gozen and Deliza (Tess according to Lance) are on level 69 and beating the Dark Knight was easy as eating a pie. It wasn’t a big challenge actually. All I used was basic attacks and when I get enough luna points I use Lance’s Razor Spin. After a few rounds of hacking and slashing, the Dark Knight goes down. Then what happens after is the most disappointing thing.

Deliza or Tess is summoned by the Dark Lord and Lance and the other guys didn’t even stop her. So the next thing to do is fight the Dark Lord himself which is relatively easy to bring down like the Dread Knight. After the battle ends, Deliza and the Dark Lord disappears flies away after telling Lance what strong Blade Dancer he has become. Then the game ends. No special animations. Just scrolling ending credits.

So what’s next to this game actually? Does it have a continuation or sequel? So what happened to all the missions I wasted my gameplay for? What about the celebration and the happy ending?

There may be no happy ending but the game is really quite good though. What I really liked about the game are the missions and the crafting. At the first few hours of playing the game, it may be frustrating at the first few hours but when you reach higher levels especially when you’re at level 60, you tend to look for tougher and tougher monsters to fight. So how do you do that? The first thing you must do is find a blue skull (which represents weak monsters) then chase it away until it merges with another blue skull. Sometimes two merged blue skulls isn’t a challenge so you run around until there are four blue skulls merged. That way it’s more of a challenge. And that’s what we really need. I also enjoyed crafting Armors and Equipments. And yeah you should remember that it’s the key to win the game. Stock up on armor and you will get stronger. If Lance uses a Luna Stud, appraise it and then craft it so you can equip it to the others. That’s what I did when I didn’t have enough money. When I got a million bucks, I wasted it on these equipments and weapons.

Well anyway, I have zipped and uploaded my save game data for Blade Dancer Ending. It’s actually a Clear Data. Download it now!

Instructions for the game:

Just go straight to the magic circle and then you will be teleported to where the Dread Knight stands. To beat the Dread Knight, just use basic attacks and when you get enough Luna, use Lance’s Razor Spin on him. Do this one three to four times then the Dread Knight falls down. To beat the Dark Lord just use the same technique. You won’t need to heal until you have to. Just use attacks and Razor Spin and that’s what there is to it. The End!
