Dancing with the Blade
What is stylemo? Stylemo is supposed to be my portfolio and blog site. I also have a plan to make this one a development site for templates. But I guess I don’t have enough time right now.
I was supposed to have this redesigned a month ago but due to a lot of projects coming in, I guess it does have to wait. So what other things aside from Web development and design projects makes me busy? Well, from my previous post, I’ve told the whole blogosphere about the new PSP that I bought. So what am i using it for?
Everyday I bring it with me while I’m on my way to work so I could listen to my MP3s. I’ve got a whole bunch of them. I’ve currently got System of A Down, My Chemical Romance, Tenacious D, Fingur and Dicta License on my PSP right now. When I get tired of listening to music, I switch to the photo viewer and read PSP formatted comics and magazines which I downloaded from PSPmagazines.com. I’ve got NYC2123 – Dayender issues 1 to 6 and Super Spy. I’ve got a few FHM copies too.
Well anyway, what I’m really doing right now with my PSP is that I’m playing this really good RPG that my girlfriend just gave me. It’s called Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light. It’s about a young warrior named Lance who has travelled seeking for martial training and discovers an awakened evil from the depths of history. When I first loaded the game, I was stunned at the amazing anime introduction movie. Well, I’m a fan of anime but I’m really not obsessed with it. I just happen to like anime.
What can I say about Blade Dancer? Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light is an RPG developed by Hitmaker. The overall graphics of the game is actually amazing. For me, it has better graphics than that of Final Fantasy VIII on the PSOne. The controls is a little bit not too easy. What I mean is when you go into battle, after your first party member has made his move you still have to direct the cursor to the next character. I just think that the control cursor should automatically move to the other party member. What I like about the game is the Luna Abilities which is a very Vital part of the game. It’s a special attack which you can only use when you have enough Lunar Points. You can check out the Lunar Points through the Lunar Guage which only increases when you make or receive a normal attack. The battle system is a little bit complicated at the start but once you get the hand of it, it’s easy as eating a pie. When you are exploring in a field, you can see the enemies roaming unlike in Final Fantasy VIII which you don’t see the monsters but you always get into random battles. In Blade Dancer, you can run away from enemies. It’s a good thing especially if you don’t wanna attack those monsters. What I really don’t like about the game is that you have to have many weapons because each time you use a weapon, it degrades. When you’ve used it excessively and breaks up. The weapons actually has a life meter too. You also get limited slots for the weapons and items. One more cool thing that adds to the challenge here is the side missions. There are actually a lot of missions you could do. When you get in towns, talk to all the people and they will give you good and challenging missions. The best part of it are the rewards you get from these completed missions.
What are the levels of my characters in Blade Dancer right now? My characters level averages from level 24 to level28. So where am I in the game right now? I’ve currently surpassed the scene where Goran releases the Dark Lord. I have all the characters in my party right now. The game is kinda frustrating sometimes because my weapons break fast. Well, that’s because I use them a lot. Good thing I have them appraised so that I can rebuild them again.
Well, I’m off to bed now or maybe not. Just typing these words make me grab my PSP and get into the game again. Well, when I get into the middle of the game I will blog about it again and tell you how I got there. Or maybe I should try writing a walkthrough? Nah. i don’t have time. I’m too busy. Maybe when I beat the game. If anybody out there has already beat the game, please give me some tips.

After reading your thoughts on Blade Dancer I will give it a shot. I would like to mention that Valkyrie Profile for the PSP is also a great RPG.
Yeah, I agree about that. I was actually looking for Valkyrie Profile when I came across Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light. I compared the two games and I was fascinated by Blade Dancer’s graphics which I think is better compared to Valkyrie. I have played Valkyrie on the PSOne long ago, so I thought of trying out Blade Dancer.
I checked out your site Pete, and watched some of your video podcasts. Keep it up guys.
I saw your comments about psp. 2.6 can be downgraded. I haven’t tried this but this is what I read. You can upgrade to 2.71 by playing the locoroco demo, then you use the new downgrader from 2.71 to go to 1.5. It only works on earlier model PSPs before a certain motherboard revision. Check the hax sites for details. I’m thinking about doing this but honestly there’s nothing on homebrew i really want.
Like I said on my first post about my PSP, I wouldn’t really wanna play any homebrew games too just like you. I’ve already upgraded my PSP to 2.80 and I have the LocoRoco demo, Tama Run and the Soccer demo. Besides, I really can’t downgrade my PSP because it’s mainframe motherboard is the new version – not downgradable.
After reading your opinion of blade dancer, I went and bought it. I did try that VP port, and I got to chapter 4 and am seriously bored. I so far am really enjoying this blade dancer
I must admit too that Blade Dancer gets boring at the start too but once you start increasing your levels, it gets more and more exciting. Of course you must level up with the chain of events in the game.
I have already beaten the Serpent which has the Snake King Blood to make the Dragon Flute. I still have one missing ingredient for the recipe though, I miss the mystical hide. I’m actually looking for it right now. My characters are at level 35-38 right now and monsters are getting stronger. Sometimes the blue skull roaming around you will turn into gray. If that happens you must run away because those monsters are strong. I have actually fought the Dark Knight also and managed to bring him down but he is actually invincible. I have also tips for saving your money into buying weapons too but I must write another post for it soon! Thanks runelord!
blade dancer is a good game i beat it with all my charactes in lvl 60…the ending is not good though…personally i hate it

I’m sorry J1665, I don’t think there are any available complete walkthrus yet. I really think you won’t be needing any walkthru for this game since I can say it’s not hard to beat the game. All you have to do is search and destroy enemies. The game is pretty straightforward if you just play it on.
where the hell does one find snake king blood
good question tenceone. the snake king blood is located somewhere in gallema desert. the exact location? it’s actually hidden somewhere near the entrance on the first map/area of gallema desert.

Your help would be appreciated. How do you gain access to the Dark Gate at Lunar Tower?
The dark gate? hmmm… let me have a total recall, ok?
Wait, is there a dark gate at the Lunar Tower? well if your question is how to get to the Lunar Tower, it’s simple. There are two ways, by getting into the main entrance or by going to the teleporting circles. The lunar tower is located outermost side of the sepna forest. If you are on level 20 and above, the monsters at Luna Tower will be quite hard to beat. There are many teleporting circles inside the Lunar Tower, I think there are 3 or four at least. One circle teleports you to the top of the tower and there you will fight a boss. When you beat that boss you will find some Prism and it kinda existed since the first blade dancer and that is where Tess’ real name is revealed. Then you will be awarded with Teleport Cirlces around the map.
If you are looking for the dark gate, I think you are referring to the gate where it leads to the dark Citadel. It’s found on an island which I think is called dark prison. Well, you will be needing the dancing blade in order for you to open the dark gate. You will have to beat the gods. There are four of them and they’re actually easy to beat if you are on level 50, I guess. There’s the heaven god, the earth god, wind god and water god. Then you have to create a weapon via the Legendary Blacksmith which is found on the town(I forgot the name) by the Gallema Desert.

lvl 55 . i have just completed the one who call you too kill the morezard executioner that one
oh that one. that was easy to beat on your present level. so you are looking for the snake king blood. you will get the snake king blood when you beat the serpent king, i think. that’s what i remember. The serpent king is found somewhere in the gallema desert. I don’t know the exact location but try the place where there is a big head, where a teleport circle is located inside. It’s located near that one.
do i need to talk to someone to get the dune serpent out ?
I think you need to talk to a guy on the town at the desert. I forgot his name but he is located beside one of the shops. It’s not the blacksmith but the guy that gives you missions. have you met that one already?
Reading your hint I still can not find the Snake King, Stylemo, can you tell me where is the exact location?

I’m, I had looked every where in the desert and cant find it.
Stylemo said need to talk to a guy on the desert town but when I talk to him he is telling me my level is too low (38 now) and asked me to get higher level before he will talk to me.
I read some where in the web you needs to spoke to the princes in the palace first, have you able to enter the palace?

You won’t be able to find the snake king blood until you are at level 50 I guess.
Stylemo, do you remember how you were able to go in the Palace? I read from somewhere you need to speak with the king and use the item he give you.

What I remember was, I finished some mission then I was able to get in. The guard will say the queen is expectng you. I think you will be able to get in once you get Deliza.
Oh man, I suck. I have forgotten already. Maybe I should start playing it over again.

I’m sorry. I can’t help you right now. I’m playing Tony Hawk’s Underground Remix 2. Just search hard and you’ll find it. That’s how I did it.

I got the snake king blood but I forgot the ingredients I need to craft the dragon flute. I talked to the appraiser already, but I kinda forgot what he said (was in biz trip for 2 months and havent had time to play it). Now I’m back but the appraiser wont let me know anything again. I know I will need the snake king blood, mystical hide, but I kinda forget the rest. Pls helpp…thanx!!

u still have the dragonflute recipe, once u talked to the appraiser, the recipe is in ur menu.

ok u guys, i know the answer how to get the king snake blood.
first u have to finish adventurers proof 1 and 2 by godun.
after that, he tells u, that u need more skillz to get the reward of the second adventurers proof, keep talkin to him, again and again, after gettin the bassilisk claw, talk to him again, and he will tells u bout dune serpent, then go to gallema desert just as stylemo told u, u will find the snake there….

btw i got some serious problem here.when i go to the vemos island theres a scene of lance and tess{thats ok}but once i reach the vemos island and go in
to the dark citadel and no scene occur when i reached the gate.can’t go through either.any ssoluation on that??
The last time I played this game was I think five months ago. So you arrived the gates of Dark Citadel already. One thing you must do for the gates to open, what I remember was, I think you must obtain the fire sword – it’s some sword. I can’t remember but you can get it assembling it. Find the legendary blacksmith on the desert. He’ll tel you what to do.

i can’t find that stupid king snake blood…im almost level 50 and they say it’s located near the entrance to lunar tower in gallema but it’s not there…..some says it’s on the first map of gallema????? where is it really located!!!!!!! help me out pls!!!

okay im am having major problems finding the Mysitcal Hide for the hopeless affliction side mission in domerune port.
here is what i have done so far…
1) i have found and beaten the dune serpent. (p.s you have to beat the dread knight BEFORE going to the queen in jade, the go to domerune and talk to the people there, like smart scott and the appraiser(she will give you the dragon flute receipe). then you talk to the people in rem and then the dune serpent will appear in front of the big head in gallama deseart. beat him and take the flute to the ruins in nelflem mountain. the other two items you need for the flute are mystical fang and mystical bone.)
2) i have defeted slyfn and completed almost all the side missions. i even found the stupid guy for the sonyas lunch thing. you have to beat slyfn for the mission o be activated.
the only missions i need are the heros song and hopeless affliction. my characters are all the forties but i cant find the damn Mystical Hide. i tried crafting it but none of recepie combos are working.
is the something i have to do to activate the hopeless affliction mission.
please help.

hey people,i’m in Level 53, i know this Q is been up so many freaking times, but i got the 3rd adventures proof mission, got the basilisk claw, talked to every man, woman and child in the bleeding desert city, but the Snake King does not appear at front of the entrance at the big head,
i also talked to the guy who gives out the missions in Rem, and i cant locate the Evil Rock, which i’m supposed to use the dowsing rod for, right, but i don’t know where or how,
can someone PLEASE give me a hand in knowledge?? i really need to finish this game, its good. thanks! pls reply.
